
22 Escape Death in Lagos-Ibadan Highway Crash
In a harrowing incident on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway near Mountain Top University, Kara Ibafo area of Ogun State, 22 individuals narrowly avoided a fatal collision. According to Florence Okpe, the spokesperson for the Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC) in the state, the accident involved 17 males and five females.
The collision occurred between a Toyota Highlander with registration number KSF 461DM and an 18-seater bus marked AAA 859 XM. Investigations revealed that the accident was caused by a loss of control on the part of the Toyota Highlander’s driver, leading to the vehicle crashing into the fully loaded bus.
Nine individuals sustained varying degrees of injury and have been taken to AZ Zonecare Hospital in the Magboro area of the state for treatment. Okpe used the opportunity to remind motorists of the importance of maintaining a controllable speed to prevent accidents, emphasizing the need for routine vehicle checks before embarking on journeys.
