APC National Vice Chairman, Kekemeke, Announces Candidacy for Ondo Governorship
Mr. Isaacs Kekemeke, the National Vice Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has declared his intention to contest in the Ondo State governorship race under the party’s platform. His declaration comes just days before the party’s primary scheduled for April 20, 2024.
Kekemeke, who previously aspired to the governorship in the 2020 election but lost the ticket to the late former Governor Rotimi Akeredolu, expressed that he is better equipped for the race now than he was four years ago. He emphasized his experience and readiness to lead the state towards socio-economic prosperity and peace.
Stating his vision for the state, Kekemeke aims to create a peaceful and prosperous environment where citizens can work and live comfortably. He also plans to utilize information science and technology to boost government revenue and create wealth.
Among the 15 chieftains of the party aspiring to secure the party’s ticket at the primary are Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa, former Commissioner for Finance Wale Akinterinwa, former House of Representatives member Mayowa Akinfolarin, former Special Adviser to Governor Akeredolu on Health Prof. Francis Faduyile, and former governorship aspirant Chief Olusola Oke, among others.
Kekemeke emphasized the need for experienced leadership in Ondo State, stating, “Ondo State needs a leadership that sufficiently understands the philosophy of the present Federal Government of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and its Renewed Hope programme for effective partnership and collaboration.” He also stressed the importance of a leadership that serves the entire state, not just a segment.
The race for the APC ticket in Ondo State is heating up as the primary approaches, with each aspirant vying to lead the state and bring about positive change.
