The origin of the Ijebu people, though steeped in oral tradition, is believed to trace back to the Southern Sudanese region of Owadaiye, now known as Waddai. The Ijebu people’s migration into Nigeria and their settlement in present-day Ijebuland is a testament to their resilience and adaptability.
Oba Adetona’s coronation was a historic event, graced by the Governor of Western Region, Chief Samuel Ladoke Akintola. Since then, Oba Adetona has been a beacon of progress, fostering religious harmony and unity among his people.
