EFCC Arrests 48 Suspected Internet Fraudsters and Herbalist in Kogi

The Ilorin Zonal Command of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has apprehended 48 suspected internet fraudsters and a herbalist for crimes related to conspiracy and obtaining money under false pretences.

The arrests were made following credible intelligence gathered on Tuesday, March 5, 2024, at various locations in Lokoja, Kogi State.

According to a statement released by the EFCC on Thursday, March 7, the herbalist, believed to be a spiritual godfather of the internet fraudsters, was found in possession of various charms.

Among the items recovered from the suspects are 10 exotic cars, two motorcycles, 11 laptops, 83 mobile phones, and assorted charms.

The suspects, all male and aged between 17 and 34, will be arraigned in court after the conclusion of investigations.

The EFCC continues to combat internet fraud and related crimes, urging the public to be vigilant and report any suspicious activities to the authorities.
