Four KWASU Students Allegedly Beat Colleague to Death for Filming Them

Four students of the Kwara State University (KWASU), Malete, have been arrested by the police for allegedly beating a fellow student to death. The incident, which occurred penultimate week in a private hostel outside the university premises, reportedly stemmed from the victim filming the four students without their consent.

According to reports, the victim was recording the four students who were in a discussion when one of them noticed and questioned him. Unable to provide a satisfactory explanation, the victim was then attacked by the four students, leading to his death from the severity of the beating.

Confirming the incident, the State Police Public Relations Officer, Toun Ejire-Adeyemi (DSP), stated that the four students had been arrested, but their names were not disclosed. She added that an investigation is ongoing.

The tragic incident has sent shockwaves through the university community, highlighting the need for peaceful conflict resolution and respect for individual privacy. The university and relevant authorities are expected to take appropriate actions to ensure justice is served and to prevent such incidents from happening in the future.
