Governor Abiodun Commits to Supporting Young Farmers and Investors

Governor Dapo Abiodun of Ogun State has reiterated his administration’s commitment to supporting young farmers and investors in land clearing, preparation, and mechanization for agriculture. This initiative aims to ensure food security and reduce unemployment in the state. The governor made this statement in Abeokuta during the grand finale of the 37th Lisabi Day celebration.

Speaking at the event, Governor Abiodun highlighted the success of the Anchor Borrowers Scheme in the state, which has nurtured over 40,000 agripreneurs. He emphasized that the theme of the celebration, ‘Encouraging Youth Entrepreneurship in Agric Business: Panacea for Solving Youth Unemployment in Egbaland,’ aligns with his administration’s commitment to empowering youths for agricultural growth.

The governor, represented by his deputy, Mrs. Noimot Salako-Oyedele, noted that Ogun State is a major global producer of cassava, with strengths in cassava production, poultry farming, fish production, and animal husbandry. He pledged continued support for young farmers and investors in these areas.

In his remarks, the Alake and paramount ruler of Egbaland, Oba Adedotun Gbadebo, acknowledged the success of the Lisabi festival and thanked Egba sons and daughters for their financial support. He also announced plans to empower Egba indigenes through Lisabi palliatives and provide educational support for students.
