Jonathan, Obi Hold Closed-Door Meeting in Abuja
Former President Goodluck Jonathan on Thursday hosted the 2023 Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi, in Abuja for a private meeting.
Obi, who revealed the development in a post on his official X handle, described Jonathan as an “elder brother, statesman, and leader.”
He stated that their discussions focused on national issues and the state of the country, noting that the engagement was both “fruitful and constructive.”
Obi wrote:
“Today in Abuja, I met with my very dear elder brother, statesman, and leader, former President Goodluck Jonathan. We had a fruitful closed-door meeting and discussed the state of our dear nation.”
It was not immediately clear whether the talks extended to the 2027 presidential elections, as neither side disclosed further details.
