Lagos Monarch Denies Fathering Late Singer Mohbad’s Son

The Elegushi of the Ikate Elegushi Kingdom in Lagos State, Oba Saheed Elegushi, has refuted rumors accusing him of being the father of the late singer Mohbad’s son, Liam Aloba. In a statement through his media consultant, Deyemi Saka, the monarch described these insinuations as a desperate attempt to tarnish his reputation.

Mohbad, also known as Ilerioluwa Aloba, passed away at the age of 27 in September 2023, sparking protests and demands for justice from his fans. Following his death, allegations emerged, including claims of bullying from his former boss, Naira Marley, and scrutiny over the paternity of his son.

The monarch clarified that the allegations against him were baseless and aimed at besmirching his character. He disclosed that a petition has been filed against individuals spreading these falsehoods, and he expressed condolences to Mohbad’s family while calling for a thorough investigation into his death.

Oba Elegushi urged the public not to involve the traditional institution in the paternity dispute and emphasized his commitment to seeking redress for these false accusations.
