
Man Kills Mother Over Palm Oil Proceeds in Osun
In a tragic incident at Kajola village, Apomu, in Isokan local government area of Osun State, 63-year-old Lukman Odejoju allegedly killed his mother, Aminat Odejoju, following a disagreement over the proceeds of palm oil from their farm. The dispute arose when they could not agree on who should collect the proceeds from their palm oil farm, which had been brought by their laborer.
Sources in the community revealed that the mother insisted on her right to collect the proceeds, but her son disagreed, leading to a fatal outcome. Lukman reportedly pushed his mother in a fit of rage, resulting in her death.
The public relations officer, Kehinde Adeleke, stated that the deceased’s body and the suspect were taken to the police station in Apomu. Confirming the incident, Osun Police Command’s spokesperson, SP Yemisi Opalola, said the suspect confessed to pushing his mother in a moment of rage, claiming he did not intend to harm her.
The suspect expressed bewilderment at his actions, stating that he could not understand why he acted in such a manner. The police are conducting further investigations into the case.
