OAU Student hospitalized after 58-hour Wash-a-Thon

Subair Enitan, a student of Obafemi Awolowo University, who recently undertook a handwashing marathon with the intention of setting a new Guinness World Record, is currently receiving medical treatment in a hospital.

Enitan successfully completed the marathon in the early hours of Monday, surpassing her initial goal of 50 hours by reaching a total of 58 hours. The official X handle for the marathon acknowledged this achievement in a recent social media post.

Unfortunately, a circulating video on social media shows Enitan’s hands have become white and wrinkled due to the extensive handwashing, indicating the toll it has taken on her. The video also depicts her lying on a bed in what appears to be a medical ward.

At this point, it has not been officially confirmed by Guinness World Record if Enitan will be recognized as a new record holder.
