Ogun APC Upholds Suspension of Senator Gbenga Daniel, Warns Public Against Dealing with Him as Party Member

The Ogun State Chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has maintained that the suspension of the Senator representing Ogun East, Otunba Gbenga Daniel, remains effective. The party cautioned government institutions, political stakeholders, and the general public not to engage with him as a member of the APC.

This clarification was contained in a letter addressed to the APC National Chairman, highlighting what the party described as Daniel’s “persistent defiance of party discipline” despite his ongoing suspension.

The letter, dated October 3, 2025, was jointly signed by the State Chairman, Chief Yemi Sanusi, and the State Secretary, Hon. Tella Aderibigbe.

According to the Ogun APC, Senator Daniel’s suspension took effect on August 19, 2025, and was duly communicated to him. The party stressed that, in line with the APC Constitution, a suspended member automatically forfeits all privileges and rights associated with party membership until the suspension is lifted.

Citing Article 21, subsection (vii) of the party’s constitution, the leadership explained that any member placed on suspension is barred from voting, attending party meetings, or participating in any party-related activities until investigations and disciplinary processes are concluded.

“As stipulated in our constitution, a member on suspension is not permitted to take part in the proceedings or activities of any organ of the party,” the statement emphasized.

The Ogun APC leadership further advised the public and political figures to note that Senator Daniel cannot act or be acknowledged as a party member during the suspension period.

“Any engagement or dealings with Otunba Gbenga Daniel in the capacity of a bona fide APC member are invalid, unrecognized, and hold no binding effect on the party,” the statement warned.

The party reaffirmed its unwavering commitment to maintaining internal discipline, promoting order, and ensuring full compliance with its constitutional provisions.
