Ogun State has lost one of its respected traditional rulers, His Royal Majesty, Oba Timothy Oluwole Sunday Mosaku, the Olu of Arigbajo in Ifo Local Government Area. He passed away at the age of 89, his family announced on Friday.

According to the family, the wake-keeping service will hold on Thursday, September 25, 2025, at the Olu of Arigbajo’s palace by 5:00 p.m. The interment service is scheduled for the following day, Friday, September 26, at St. John’s Anglican Church, Arigbajo, at 11:00 a.m.

Born to the family of Egunleti Mosaku, the late monarch steadily rose through the traditional hierarchy of Arigbajo. He was appointed Otun Baale of Arigbajo in 2001, later elevated to Baale in 2008, and in 2010, he was formally recognized by the Ogun State Government as the Oba of Arigbajo. His coronation and installation were conducted by the Alake of Egbaland, His Imperial Majesty, Oba Adedotun Aremu Gbadebo.

A well-educated traditional leader, Oba Mosaku attended United District Central Primary School, Arigbajo, and Secondary Modern School, Abeokuta. He proceeded to the Government Trade Centre, Ijebu-Ode, and later studied at the Institute of Management, where he earned a Master’s degree in Journalism.

Before ascending the throne, he worked with Vono Foam Products for 12 years, where he distinguished himself and rose to become the Union President.

The late Oba Mosaku will be remembered for his contributions to the development of Arigbajo and his dedication to preserving the cultural heritage of his people.
