Ogun State Govt. to spend N500million on street lights

The Ogun state commissioner for environment, Mr. Bolaji Oyeleye has said the state government was planning to spend N500million on street lights in 2017.
Oyeleye explained that the installation of street lights across the state was in-line with the state government’s vision in maintaining Ogun standard.
He stated this while defending the 2017 budget of the ministry at the State House of Assembly on finance and appropriation.

The commissioner also said street lights would be constructed in Abeokuta, Ijebu-Ode, Sagamu, Ilaro, Ilo-Awela and Sango-Ojodu areas of the state

He added that 60 kilometres length of median , sideways and still colour lighting in all Ogun standard roads across the state.

While presenting the 2017 budget of the Bureau of Electrical Engineering Services, BEES, the commissioner said a total sum of N1.2billion was proposed as the total expenditure of the service.
He further explained that the recurrent expenditure which include the personnel and overhead cost would take a sum of N165million and N50million respectively, while the capital expenditure would gulp a sum of N1billion out of the total expenditure.
