Police Officer Arrested Over Alleged Cybercrime, Fraud in Ogun

A police constable identified as Idris Oloyede has been arrested in Ogun State over alleged involvement in cybercrime, conspiracy, stealing, and related offences.

The development was disclosed on Friday by counter-insurgency expert Zagazola Makama via a post on X, citing reliable intelligence sources. According to Makama, the arrest was effected on Wednesday by operatives of the Anti-Kidnapping Unit of the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), based in Eleweran, Abeokuta.

Constable Oloyede, who carries Force Number 537972, is attached to the patrol team at the Odeda Divisional Headquarters in Ogun State. His arrest reportedly followed credible intelligence and an investigation that linked him directly to the alleged crimes.

Upon receiving the officers from the Anti-Kidnapping Unit, the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of Odeda Division was said to have immediately released the suspect for further interrogation.
