PSG Offers Osimhen €13m Annual Salary in Transfer Deal

Nigerian forward Victor Osimhen is reportedly on the brink of joining Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) from Napoli for a fee of €120 million, with the French club offering him a significant salary raise. Osimhen, who moved to Napoli from Lille in 2020, signed a new contract in December that nearly doubled his previous earnings, bringing his monthly salary to £1.29m (€1.5m).

The 25-year-old has attracted attention from top clubs across Europe after an impressive season, scoring 31 goals in 39 appearances last season and adding 14 goals in 26 games this term. Negotiations between Napoli and PSG are reportedly in advanced stages, with Osimhen set to sign a four-year deal with PSG worth €13m (£11.1m) annually.

PSG’s move for Osimhen comes after their recent 3-2 loss to Barcelona in the UEFA Champions League quarter-final first-leg, prompting the club to act quickly in the transfer market. This development likely means that Premier League clubs Arsenal and Chelsea, who were also interested in Osimhen, will miss out on the Nigerian striker.

With Osimhen’s potential move to PSG, Arsenal and Chelsea are now considering alternative options to strengthen their striker positions, including RB Leipzig’s Benjamin Sesko, Brentford’s Ivan Toney, Osimhen’s compatriot at Bayer Leverkusen Victor Boniface, and Sporting CP’s Viktor Gyokeres.
