Rivers Pastor in Police Custody for Alleged Homosexuality

The General Overseer of a new-generation church in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, identified as Elijah, has been arrested by the police for alleged homosexuality.

Sources say the pastor’s troubles began when a man he allegedly made advances toward secretly recorded a video of their interaction. The man, in an attempt to gather evidence, reportedly played along and filmed the pastor making advances before demanding sex.

It is unclear how the Octopus Strike Force of the Rivers State Police Command obtained the footage, but officers reportedly acted on credible intelligence to track down the cleric. He was arrested at one of his relaxation spots in Port Harcourt.

During interrogation, the pastor allegedly provided information about his activities involving both male adults and minors within and outside the state.

Confirming the arrest, the spokesperson of the Rivers State Police Command, SP Grace Iringe-Koko, said the suspect was taken into custody last Friday and has already been charged to court.

“Yes, I can confirm the pastor’s arrest. He is in custody and under investigation. In fact, he has been charged to court,” Iringe-Koko stated.

The case has now been handed over to the legal system as investigations continue.
