Seven Arrested for Alleged Murder in Ogun State Over Money Rituals

In a disturbing turn of events, the Ogun State Police Command has apprehended seven individuals, including two herbalists and two self-professed prophets, for their alleged involvement in the murder of a 35-year-old woman, Sulaimon Adijat. The suspects, identified as Moses Abidemi, Oluwo Samuel Monday, Prophet Peter Oluwalolese, Prophet Jamiu Yusuf, Akinwunmi Ifatosin, Sherifff Agbai, and Osojieahen Alioneitouria, were arrested in connection with a ritual that purportedly promised to yield N200 million within seven days.

The State Commissioner of Police, Abiodun Alamutu, described the suspects as a gang of hardened criminals who not only engaged in ritual killings but also dealt in the large-scale trafficking of human body parts. The arrests were made following a thorough investigation into the circumstances surrounding the death of Sulaimon Adijat.

The suspects were paraded at the Command Headquarters in Eleweran, Abeokuta, on Wednesday, February 14, 2024. Commissioner Alamutu reiterated the commitment of the police to ensuring that the culprits face the full wrath of the law. He urged members of the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to the authorities.

The incident serves as a stark reminder of the dangers posed by individuals who exploit vulnerable members of society for their selfish gains. The police have assured the public that they will leave no stone unturned in their quest for justice for the victim and her family.
