South African Policeman in Custody for Allegedly Fatally Stabbing Pregnant Girlfriend

A South African police officer has been apprehended for allegedly fatally stabbing his pregnant girlfriend in Durban. The 27-year-old suspect reportedly attacked the victim, also a police officer, inside an apartment on Joseph Nduli Street in the early hours of Sunday, March 31, 2024.

According to police reports, the couple was consuming alcohol when the man purportedly stabbed the woman to death. Shockingly, it’s been alleged that the suspect recorded videos and took pictures of the woman in her final moments, sending the footage to multiple individuals and even posting it on social media.

The suspect is currently in police custody and is scheduled to appear in court on Tuesday, April 2, 2024. This tragic incident has sparked widespread outrage and reignited concerns about gender-based violence in South Africa.
