
Southern Governors Converge in Iperu as Sanwo-Olu Joins High-Level Regional Meeting
The Lagos State Governor and Chairman of the South-West Governors’ Forum, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has arrived in Iperu, Ogun State, for the Southern Governors’ Forum meeting hosted by the Forum Chairman and Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun.
Sanwo-Olu is among the 13 governors already present at Governor Abiodun’s private residence where the session is being held. Other governors who have arrived include Chukwuma Soludo of Anambra (Vice Chairman of the Forum), Biodun Oyebanji of Ekiti, Alex Otti of Abia, Lucky Aiyedatiwa of Ondo, Peter Mbah of Enugu, Francis Nwifuru of Ebonyi, and Siminalayi Fubara of Rivers.
Governors Monday Okpebholo (Edo), Ademola Adeleke (Osun), Bassey Otu (Cross River), and Seyi Makinde (Oyo) were represented at the gathering by their deputies. All 17 Southern States are expected to participate fully in the meeting.
The forum is expected to deliberate on crucial regional matters, including security challenges, state and community policing, and enhanced inter-state cooperation across the Southern region.
