Police Assure Swift Rescue of Retired AIG’s Wife Abducted in Ogun

The Ogun State Police Command has assured residents that it is making every effort to rescue the kidnapped wife of retired Assistant Inspector General of Police, Hakeem Odumosu, who was abducted from her residence in Arepo, Obafemi/Owode Local Government Area, on Friday.

Reports indicate that four heavily armed and masked men stormed the Odumosu residence, shooting sporadically before attacking Mrs. Odumosu as she was about to enter her home. She was forcefully dragged from her Lexus Jeep and taken through a swampy area to an unknown location.

Speaking with Vanguard on Sunday, the Ogun State Police spokesperson, CSP Omolola Odutola, confirmed that operatives have been deployed to secure her release. “We are on the matter, and every citizen’s life in Ogun counts,” she assured.

Meanwhile, the Community Development Committee (CDC) in Arepo has urged residents to remain vigilant and enhance security measures. In a circular, the Arepo CDC emphasized the need for community awareness, stating that authorities, including police from Wawa, Ibafo, and Mowe, alongside soldiers, have been working to secure the victim’s release.

The circular further advised all Community Development Associations (CDAs) in Arepo to strategically position security personnel to prevent further incidents.
