Sallah Message – Jonathan Calls for National Unity and Shared Prosperity
Former President Goodluck Jonathan has called on Nigerians at home and abroad to embrace unity, sacrifice, and shared prosperity as Muslims across the world mark the Eid-el-Kabir celebration.
In a goodwill message posted on his official Facebook page on Friday, the ex-President congratulated the Muslim faithful and emphasized the importance of the Eid festival as a time for deep reflection and commitment to national peace and progress.
“On this blessed occasion of Eid-el-Kabir, I extend my warmest greetings and heartfelt felicitations to our Muslim brothers and sisters across Nigeria and around the world,” Jonathan wrote.
He described the festival as a solemn reminder of the enduring values of faith, devotion, sacrifice, and generosity—virtues he said are essential for fostering harmony and development in the nation.
Jonathan urged Nigerians to draw from the teachings of Eid-el-Kabir by rededicating themselves to building a country anchored on unity, lasting peace, and collective prosperity.
“This significant day serves as a profound reminder of the virtues of faith, sacrifice, devotion, and generosity, which are values that resonate deeply across all humanity,” he noted.
The former President’s message comes at a time when the country continues to navigate economic and security challenges, with citizens yearning for a more united and prosperous nation.
